What makes you the best-kept secret? The answer, potential. Each and every one of us is loaded with absolute potential.
So, what is potential? Potential is the capacity or ability to develop or produce greater future success.
E.g., You may be a store clerk, but your gift, natural talent, and dream suggest that you may be an interior decorator, a marketing consultant, or a movie producer.
No matter where you’re at in your life right now, you need to understand that you are destined for greater. Greatness is embedded in each of our souls.
Everything you need to be great or to be successful is already in you. The creator (God the father) has placed in every human being a seed that must grow or mature into its fullness.
Essentially, you were packaged and sent to earth as a baby to grow up and become Superman.
And, who wouldn’t want to be superman? Donning the red cape, flying through the air, having all the abilities and the admiration of thousands. Wouldn’t that be great!
Now, I do realize that the comparison of a fictional character to the life an actual human being is clichéd, but the significance of it isn’t. You were born to be great, but sometimes that greatness is hindered.
So, what causes your greatness to be hindered? The answer, negative influences on your belief system.
Your belief system is responsible for your ideologies and set of principles that guide you throughout your life. However, multiple factors can influence your mind negatively. For the sake of this blog, we will identify 5 of these factors that can affect you adversely, and they are:
(1)Other people’s opinions–Stop believing in other people’s opinions of you. Don’t let nobody put you in a box, which casts a limitation on your potential.
(2)Self-doubt–Right now, there are those of you, reading this blog and many others around the world with a strong desire to do something great like writing a book, specializing in a craft, opening a business, or taking your talents globally for a better opportunity. But here is where self-doubt kicks in. Most people believe in their momentary shortcomings, over the greatness of being a published writer, a master craftsman, a successful entrepreneur, or a global leader, and thus, limiting your own potential.
(3)Past mistakes- We have all made mistakes, taken detours, and/or travel roads that lead us astray. There is no use crying over spilled milk, all you can do is learn from it and move on. Wallowing in past mistakes is like putting a leash on your potential.
(4) Being conceited- Thinking you have arrived because you are seemingly doing better than some people around you. Potential is not measured by other people’s success, it is measured by your dream and what you have done. By being conceited, you rob yourself of reaching your full potential by thinking you arrived by you actually do.
(5) Laziness- Many people throw in the towel, before attempting to do something great. They make trivial excuses on why they can’t achieve their goal. Being lazy is like putting a pillow over your potential and suffocating it.
Now that we have identified these negative influences that affect a person’s belief system, which ultimately hinders one’s greatness. Let’s work on mental reprogramming.
